2023 Black Sustainability Summit

Join sustainability professionals and enthusiasts around the globe for the 8th Annual Black Sustainability Summit. 

Our ancestors knew how to live in line with nature AND solve present day challenges.

With delegations and representatives across the globe sharing reports on the State of Black Sustainability in their respective regions, How-To Workshops regarding Practical Steps Toward Self-Sufficiency across the Afrikan diaspora and on the continent. Unapologetically 100% Black/African presenters with representation from Africa, North America, South America, the Caribbean and Europe. We are all facing similar challenges, let's work together to create united approaches and best practices for the sustainable development and resiliency of our communities.


DAY 1: State of Black Sustainability Reports

Learn the State of Agriculture, Energy, Water, Waste, Environmental Justice, Climate, Economics, Housing, etc. for people of African descent. In-person and Virtual reports provided by individuals and delegations representing global frontline communities and organizations.

Connect with attendees and presenters at a curated mixer at the Pink Lion Jazz Club!

DAY 2: Practical Application of Sustainability Practices & Hands-On Learning

  • Saturday, Oct. 7  9:00amET  -  9:00pmET  (in partnership with the Original Collard Greens Cultural Festival)


This day will have hands-on workshops at The Original Collard Greens Cultural Festival for a mix of edutainment, from Water Quality Testing , Disaster/Climate Preparedness Simulations, Natural Dyeing, Atmospheric Water Demonstration, Seed Saving & organic, non-GMO, heirloom Seed Swap, Agro-Ecology Farm Tours, Mental Health & more. 

This is a day open to the entire family and select workshops will be open to the public to ensure the information reaches our broader community.

DAY 3: Final Reports and Next Steps for Frontline Communities

  • Sunday, Oct. 8  9:30amET  -  2:30pmET


Join us for a half day of reports, discussions, and step-by-step ways to fund our initiatives, develop collective strategies & Next Steps!
